Ernie Watts Quartet (Berlin 2012)
Two-time Grammy Award winner Ernie Watts is one of the most versatile and prolific saxophone players on the music scene. In a diverse career that has spanned more than 40 years, he has been featured on over 500 recordings by artists ranging from Cannonball Adderley to Frank Zappa, always exhibiting his unforgettable trademark sound. While on tour in the mid-‘90s, Watts had the opportunity to play with pianist Christof Saenger and a bond was created. After that meeting, Watts formed a quartet with Saenger at its heart. With Rudi Engel on acoustic bass and Heinrich Koebberling on drums, these four musicians have merged into a cohesive unit, creating a solid platform for Watts’ creative force.

Barbara Dennerlein Trio (Berlin 2012)
Her CDs have received Jazz Awards several times as well as the Award of the "Deutsche Schallplattenkritik". Her album "Take Off" even reached No. 1 on the jazz charts and was hailed as the year's best-selling jazz album. Barbara Dennerlein is part of the small circle of German artists with international reputations. She presents herself in both her releases and her concerts as a competent representative of a new generation of jazz musicians and has become the protagonist of her instrument, the legendary Hammond B3.

Milla Kay (Berlin 2012)
Exuberance and melancholia, depth and a touch of ease, sophisticated arrangements and pop-like catchiness. One could call this kind of music singer/songwriter jazz. You think New York, you hear Rio and you are wrong: Milla Kay (pronounced: Kai) is nordish and lives in Hamburg between St. Pauli and the Portuguese quarter and presents „Heartmade“ – an airy and transparent album with songs that bring wind under your wings and make you forget about your Sunday hangover.

Thorbjørn Risager Band (Berlin 2012)
Thorbjørn Risager’s exceptional voice has made many US critics compare him to Ray Charles. But it doesn’t end with his powerful voice – That’s only the beginning! His ability to write music with components from many genres, especially blues, rock, soul and also jazz & funk, and fuse it into a richly varied brew creates not only a new sound but a new musical genre.
